We are delighted to announce that Keir Ashton will join VARO as General Counsel, effective September 1st, 2024. Keir will be based in our head office in Zug.
As we accelerate our ONE VARO Transformation strategy, building major partnerships and joint ventures, will be key to our future. And in an evolving context, ensuring compliance, advising on operations, and supporting new business opportunities, M&A, and financing transactions will be key.
Keir brings all of this to our company with his wealth of extensive international experience in major transactions and capital markets. He has a distinguished track record having worked for Clifford Chance in London, Bloomberg in New York, The Wireless Group in London, and Louis Dreyfus, one of the world’s largest commodity trading houses, based in Geneva, where he spent 15 years in senior positions, including the role of Group General Counsel.
He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and a trained solicitor. He is a trustee of the Scottish Association of Marine Science, an independent marine science organisation founded in 1884.
Keir will be leading an exceptional legal team, and I am confident that under his leadership, our legal group will continue to thrive and support our ambitious goals.
